Palmetto police say a 13-month old boy ingested pieces of crack cocaine at his grandmother's home. Authorities have issued a warrant for the child's grandmother, Ebony Daniel, and the grandmother's boyfriend, Charlie Martin. Both live at the duplex on Elm Street where the child allegedly got a hold of the drugs.
Palmetto police say the baby's 17-year-old mother was present at the time, but they are not sure of her role. What they do know is that none of the adults called police. "We received a call from Piedmont Newnan Hospital saying that they were treating a 13-month-old child that had been exposed and possibly ingested an unknown amount of crack cocaine," said Sgt. Lee Gragg of the Palmetto Police Department.
"We do know from speaking to a couple of witnesses that the cocaine was sitting open on the table," After spending two nights at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, it looks like the baby will be OK.
