Danny Gokey Eliminated

It was down to a trio of contestants who performed Tuesday night on the FOX reality show American Idol. Danny Gokey, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert entertained viewers with two songs apiece and then it was up to America to decide who would be sent home.

After 88 million votes, it’s going to be Kris Allen and Adam Lambert in the finale. After the votes were tabulated, it was Danny Gokey who was eliminated . He took the stage and performed an emotional rendition of You Are So Beautiful, bringing tears to the eyes of judges Kara and Paula.

Gokey, 29, a widowed church music director from Wisconsin, had until this week been one of the leading vote-getters among viewers this season.Danny lost his wife Sophia 10 months ago when she died of complications following heart surgery. It was just three weeks later when he first auditioned for American Idol.

According to Simon, the finale should be a “ding dong” of an affair. Without making us consult our British-to-English dictionaries, Simon informed us that it was a good thing.

However, before we got to any results of American Idol 2009 top 2, we got to see footage of each of the Top 3’s visits to their hometown. I don’t know what it is about this part, but I always get teary eyed when I watch the contenders deal with their new found fame at home.

The Top 3 journeyed back to their hometowns for a love fest. Danny to Milwaukee, Kris to Conway, Arkansas and Adam to San Diego. Touching video footage showed frenzied fans at rallies and parades.

Then Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks returned to the Idol stage to sing “Battlefield.” It doesn’t seem like it’s been two years since Jordin was awaiting her fate on the stage. I thought she looked beautiful and sounded great. But I have to wonder if she was in this year’s pool of contestants, would she still have won?

Finally we heard Katy Perry singing her new single, “Waking Up in Vegas.” This performance is my first exposure to the colorful singer and I didn’t think it was half bad. And judging from her cape, she’s an Adam fan. I will be pulling for Kris next week, but regardless of who wins the American Idol 2009 finale we should be in store for one spectacular show.

Wanda Sykes And Wife Alex Welcome Twins

Still basking in the glow of her White House Correspondent’s Dinner speech, comedian Wanda Sykes announced on Wednesday that she and wife Alex welcomed twins on April 27.

Alex gave birth to a girl, Olivia Lou, and a boy, Lucas Claude, on April 27th. Sykes' wife and babies are evidently recovering at home now.

"All are happy and healthy and at home," says Sykes's rep Danica Smith.

Alex gave birth to daughter Olivia (6 lbs., 7 oz. and 19-inches long) and son Lucas Claude (7 lbs., 9 oz., and 20-inches long). The couple were married in October
.
The actress, who stars on New Adventures of Old Christine, and her wife were married on Oct. 25, 2008. The twins are the first children for the couple.

danny gokey you are so beautiful

Danny Gokey chose to sing “You Are So Beautiful” which was originally made famous by Joe Cocker. After losing his wife, I can’t believe that he can sing these super emotional songs. I thought his voice sounding so amazing and I loved the arrangement. I think that was my favorite performance by Danny this season.

Wow, what a great choice. It totally fits the tone of his voice. He and Adam Lambert generally pick good songs. Man, this is super, super cheesy; everything is totally drawn out, a lot of emotion in his voice.

I can't help it though, it's a great song, and he adds some nice little vocal runs in there -- I like it. Very sincere, Gokey's fans are gonna love this. Heck of a nice finish, too. A bit artificial in that you can tell everything is practiced and planned, but that doesn't mean it's not effective.
Randy said that he loved that Danny showed that he’s in the competition because he can really, really, really sing. Kara said that it was stunning and amazing. Paula said that they were left breathless by the performance and that by changing the song’s structure he made it beautiful. Simon said that it was a vocal master class. Wow!

Father and son Ron Morelli and Mike Morelli, the last remaining team, fell below the yellow line in the final weigh-in in The Biggest Loser Couples 2 Episode 18. America’s vote will save one of them and put him in the final three with Tara Costa and Helen Phillips.

During tonight's The Biggest Loser 2009 Finale the third finalist will be revealed and the season 8 Biggest loser winner will be Crowned. Keep in mind that the show is TV-PG rated.
The first order of business is to find out who America voted for. Unsurprisingly, America has picked Mike. He looks like he’s down around 50%, so he should prove to be stiff competition. Now that we’ve found that out, we know the final three, and one of them will be The Biggest Loser season 7 winner.

Meanwhile,According to Zap2it Poll 60 percent of the voters think that Tara will be the Biggest Loser winner of the 2009 Finale. Helen comes third in the poll with 5 percent and Ron is the 4th with only 1 percent voting chance to be the winner of The Biggest Loser 2009.

The Biggest Loser is even very popular in Canada and many people are watching the show from across the border. Sanling_Shines Twits about watching the Biggest Loser and wishing there was a Canadian version. "But our trainers would probably be too polite," she continues.

Helen Phillips was crowned the biggest loser on the seventh seven finale of NBC’s hit weight loss show “The Biggest Loser.”

Helen lost a total of 140 pounds during her six months on the show and looked amazing in a sexy, hot pink dress she couldn’t stop showing off.

The show began with a look back at all the ups and downs of the season. I’m sure it brought up a lot of strong emotions for the contestants because it brought up a lot of strong emotions for me. I was in tears by the time they reached the marathon. It is just amazing to see how far everyone has come.

It's very "Mad World"-like, same shade of blue stage, same slow and controlled performance. Man, so soulful... this is going to make Adam's fans melt. Belts out the chorus, showing off his range; the audience is just shrieking as he hits and holds the high note, looks like he's going to cry after singing that crazy note.

Not amazing for me, but better than anyone else tonight by a mile. Wow, audience erupts, Adam's just standing there beaming as his parents look on.

Randy says he "went off melody". Kara says "you're an "amazing strategist, you did your own version". Paula calls it "a brilliant choice of song and superb performance." Simon says "It was a brilliant, brilliant performance."Kara said he just proved that he can take a song and do it in a completely different way (she's just figuring that out?).

Simon says flat out it's a "brilliant" performance (and a brilliant song choice). Adds if you're not in the finals it'll be one of the biggest upsets. Uh, I couldn't think of a bigger one....

I've heard some great versions of this songs -- U2, Mary J. Blige, Johnny Cash. Adam starts it at an unbelievably subdued level. It's just gorgeous. But it doesn't last long. He goes from gorgeous to shrieky -- and, I'm sorry, I hate reverting to that over-used descriptor, but there's just no better word to describe it -- in less than two seconds. That trick has worked for a lot of the songs that he's done, but it just sounds awful here. Arrangement's great, though.

We all know that Lindsay Lohan graves attention but this one might be going to far.

According to sources close to the young starlet and gossip blogs everywhere, Lindsay Lohan is purportedly 7 weeks pregnant. The 22 year-old Lohan has yet to respond to any of these claims nor issued an official statement.

Unidentified tattles connected to celebrity journalist Ian Halperin claim the star has bedded a number of men in recent weeks in a bid to move past her split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson, and apparently doesn’t know who the child’s father is."I swear she's carrying," a source tells Halperin. "She's going through big emotional turmoil. She’s not sure if she’ll have it or go through with an abortion that she booked to have in the next few days. Saddest part is she has no idea who the father is. She must have slept with more than two dozen men in the past couple of months."

Sounds pretty suspect, not least of all because Lohan barely seems capable of sustaining herself these days, let alone another life in her womb.

That's what I'm hearing; the YBF is reporting that Lauren is something like 5 month pregnant, and while there's no confirmation on it.

According to YBF, Lauren is “indeed 5 months pregnant!” According to a celeb manager with loose lips, their client was offered a role after Lauren was unable to due to the rumored pregnancy and said to be taking time off from her career…

Until I see an official press release, a letter from the OBGYN, and the sonogram I won’t believe Lauren London is pregnant, and better yet pregnant by Lil’ Wayne.

Of course this rumor has been floating around for a while now, and if she is that far along, she would have been about 3 months pregnant in the above picture taken at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon at the end of March…

That's both criminal and disgusting - Weezy looks like a walking cockroach, and that kid won't be able to deal with a sizzurp-addicted father. Christ, that bothers me. I pray this is some wild rumor, or that she at least was level-headed enough to fuck with a dude who has something to with life other than electronically manipulating his twisted musings to nothing beats.
