SOUTH CAROLINA'S 8TH GRADE PHENOM SEVENTH WOODS TAKES OVER AN AAU GAME AGAINST HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION, MAKES IT LOOK EASY

VIA ACEBASKETBALLCAMP:

Seventh Woods is a 6'-2" 8th grade combo guard at Hammond Academy in Columbia, SC (Class of 2016). This highlight is from an AAU tournament game where he scored 21 points, had numerous rebounds and assists, and a few impressive blocks. His two three point shots came at the end; one half court shot with about one second on the clock to put the game into overtime (ref 4:10 min), and the second in OT with about 5 seconds on the clock for the win (ref 5:10 min).

It's difficult to choose one word to describe Seventh Woods. Phenom and gifted were the first two that came to my mind when I saw this 13 year old playing on a 9th grade AAU team (which was playing up in a 10th grade bracket). He is deceptively quick, with a killer crossover that leaves defenders helpless as he drives for two or pulls up for a quick jump shot. He is an unselfish player with good down court vision and passing skills.

He is a very good perimeter defender and was simply amazing when defending two on one, as on a few occasions he batted the ball away from behind the shooter. I guess the only thing missing from this highlight is a slam dunk, but rest assured, he can do that too. In another game this same weekend he had three dunks, two alley-oops and a fast break single handed slam. I will likely do a follow-up video with that footage in the near future. This kid is a complete package and the real deal. He will be able to pick his college of choice.
